Concerto Competition

  • The Concerto Competition is an opportunity for amateur and pre-professional musicians to perform as a soloist with a professional orchestra.
  • Our rich repertoire list includes not only Baroque, Classical, and Romantic concertos, but also contemporary works specially written for young musicians.
  • Open to all ages and most instruments.
  • Repertoire: one movement from a Concerto (pre-approved repertoire list or case-by-case approval). Memorization is required. 
  • Winners will be invited to perform with the professional Sempre Musick Orchestra.
  • A unique opportunity for amateur musicians to perform with a professional orchestra – without having to learn new music. 
  • Sempre Musick has commissioned professional composers to create orchestral accompaniment to popular classical masterpieces
  • Open to all ages. Instruments: piano, clarinet, violin. 
  • Repertoire: pre-approved repertoire list only. Memorization is required.
  • Winners will be invited to perform with the professional Sempre Musick Orchestra.
  • A unique opportunity for pianists to perform as a soloist with a professional ensemble. 
  • Created exclusively for Sempre Musick, we present a series of new compositions, built entirely around the Bach Two-Part Inventions.
  • Each composition consists of the original (urtext) Two-Part Invention, an additional Flute, Oboe, or Violin part, a continuo part (typically Cello), and Harpsichord.
  • Winners will be invited to perform with the Sempre Musick Baroque Ensemble.
  • For solo performers or duet participants who wish to perform on stage and gain recognition for their musical abilities by competing for awards.
  • Open to all ages and instruments, including voice.  
  • Any repertoire that fits the duration requirements is acceptable.
  • Memorization is required for solo performers. Memorization is optional for duets.
  • Winners will be invited to perform in a live Winners’ Recital. 
  • For solo or duet performers who wish to experience a performance opportunity in an encouraging environment.
  • Open to all ages and instruments, including voice. Teacher-student and parent-student duets are accepted.
  • Any repertoire that fits the duration requirements is acceptable.
  • Memorization is optional.
  • Qualified participants will be invited to perform in a live recital.
