Announcing our Spring 2024 Concert Series

Sempre Musick is delighted to announce our Winners’ Recital Concerts for our 2024 season! 

Concerts are open to the public. 

All concerts will be held at the West Parish Church, located at 129 Reservation Road, Andover, Massachusetts. Parking is available in front of the church. Additional parking is available behind the main church building (off Shawsheen Road). 

Concert Schedule

  • Saturday, May 25
    • 3:00pm: performances with the Sempre Musick Orchestra, and winners of the 2023 Composition Competition.
    • 5:30pm: performances with the Sempre Musick Orchestra, and winners of the 2023 Composition Competition.
  • Sunday, May 26
    • 4:30pm: performances with the Sempre Musick Orchestra, and winners of the 2023 Composition Competition.
    • 6:30pm: performances with the Sempre Musick Orchestra, and winners of the 2023 Composition Competition.
  • Monday, May 27
    • 1:30pm: performances with the Sempre Musick Orchestra.

    • 7:00pm: Bach Two-Part Inventions with Sempre Musick Baroque Ensemble, and solo performers.

Tickets:

  • Each concert will feature different programs and soloists.
  • Doors will open 30 minutes prior to performance time.
  • Tickets are available for purchase ahead of time. Tickets will also be available at the door. 
  • Each ticket grants you entry to any single concert of your choice. 
  • Your tickets will be held for you at the entrance. Upon arrival, please tell us your email address to pick up your tickets.

Announcing Taige Wang as the Recipient of the 2024 Sempre Musick Rising Artist Award​

Taige Wang will perform as a soloist with the Sempre Musick Orchestra on May 25 at 3:00 pm. 

Taige is also a winner of the 2023 Sempre Musick Composition Competition. His piano trio, Chopin vs Chopin 2.0, will also be performed on May 25. 

TAIGE WANG, 13, studies piano at The Juilliard School with Yoheved Kaplinsky. He is a young scholar of the Lang Lang International Music Foundation. 

In 2023, as the youngest competitor, Taige made the quarterfinals at The Cliburn Junior Competition, and was one of the three finalists at Thomas and Evon Cooper International Piano Competition, where he performed with the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra. 

Taige appeared on the show From the Top in 2021 and at From The Top’s 2022 Gala, in which he was the youngest of three nationally-selected musicians. He has played at various prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall Stern Auditorium, Nixon Presidential Library Museum, Lincoln Center, Severance Hall, and Henan Grand Theater (China).

Taige studies composition with Bruce Adolphe. As a prize-winning composer, his piano trio Chopin vs Chopin 2.0 was commissioned by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and he performed its debut at Alice Tully Hall on April 16, 2023. 

Taige received the President’s Volunteer Service Gold Award in 2022.

Congratulations to all 200+ talented participants from 18 countries on your hard work! We are thrilled to announce the competition results.

Each age category winner will be awarded a cash prize and the honor of having their composition performed by the esteemed Sempre Musick Orchestra during the 2024 season. We will communicate performance schedules at a later date.

All entrants will receive their personalized judges’ comments and certificates of participation by December 31, 2023. Given the impressive turnout, we will be dispatching these documents gradually over the upcoming weeks.
